An Amoral Archangel who faked his own death, stole his page out of the Book of Life, and has been wandering ever since — leaving one small blue stone in every place he visits, for one person to find.
Ezekiel is the self-insert — the point where the author steps into the world rather than narrating it. He belongs to an AU that isn’t published on this site, so nothing here should be read back into Canon.
He is amoral. Not evil, not fallen, not tormented about it — the categories simply do not interest him. He does not care about right or wrong. He cares about what is interesting.
He will help you. He might help you a great deal. But the reason is his own amusement, and he will not pretend otherwise to make you feel better about accepting it.
He does still love Uriel. That is the single commitment in him that isn’t contingent on whether the situation is entertaining.
The wings are the tell. Nothing about them says fallen or damaged in combat. They say mileage. They belong to someone who has not stopped moving in a very long time, and who has nobody to repair them.
An archangel who is officially dead does not get maintained.
The official account is that Ezekiel killed six demons, and that doing it cost him his life. It is a good death — proportionate, heroic, closed. Nobody has cause to look at it twice.
He staged all of it.
A faked death only holds if the paperwork agrees. So he took his own page out of the Book of Life — which is a subset of the Akashic Records. He did not forge an entry. He removed himself from the record entirely.
Worth sitting with: the Akashic Records are Metatron’s charge, the memory of creation itself, the unchanging truth on which everything else is built. Ezekiel walked into the one archive that is supposed to be incorruptible and edited himself out of it.
Everywhere he goes, Ezekiel leaves a single lapis — placed to point north.
It is a message, and it has exactly one intended reader. It says: I am alive. I was here. This is where I have been.
He knows Uriel will find it. That is not hope, it is calculation — so he plans precisely where to leave it, every time, so that she will.
He deleted himself from the official record — and then started keeping a private, unauthorised one, scattered across the world in blue stone, addressed to the one person in creation who was built to notice things.
He did not stop keeping records. He changed who they were for.
