Lore & Theology

The cosmology underneath Canon Uriel — and only her. The eleven AU variants are not bound by any of this; several of them contradict it outright, and one of them isn’t about angels at all.

♥ Before creation ♥

the Void, and what was already in it

There was the Void. And there was YHWH — the First Light, the Primordial, she/her. Her existence was an act of attention: a refusal to let nothing sweep in and take what she had not yet made. This was not creation. It was waiting.

Darkness
She/her. YHWH’s twin, born of the same primordial silence, split along an axis neither could cross. She is not an enemy and never was. She is apathetic — presence without connection, a mirror that gives nothing back.
Death
The Primordial of Unbeing, as old as YHWH. Also not an enemy: the necessary counterbalance to creation. Cosmic symmetry rather than opposition.

The wound at the start of everything

Enmity would have been something. Darkness offered nothing to push against — a companion by birthright who left her utterly alone. That loneliness, not malice and not ambition, is what set creation in motion.

♥ Lucifer ♥

the first angel, and the first mistake about him

YHWH made Lucifer Morningstar out of her own light and breathed him into existence — deliberately, for connection. Not a twin. A child. The first angel, her firstborn son, a Seraphim.

His purpose was never commanded. It was inherited — filial devotion written into his core from his first moment of awareness. He wanted an ordered, perfect creation in which nothing would ever have to suffer.

He is never malicious

Every catastrophic thing Lucifer does proceeds from sincerity. He proposed the four pillars. He proposed the experiment. He proposed the Virtues that repaired the damage afterwards. His love took the shape of control, and that is the entire tragedy — not pride, and not spite.

♥ The four pillars ♥

Lucifer proposed them; YHWH made them
Michael — Seraph
Defend and guard the realms. Took his place at the perimeter and did not speak.
Gabriel — Cherubim
Communication. Noticed a flaw in the harmonics immediately and was overruled immediately.
Raphael — Dominion
Heal and tend. Knew his purpose without having to ask.
Uriel — Throne
To note and record. Made last. She did not smile. She catalogued the others and waited.
Metatron — Dominion
Later named Keeper of the Akashic Records — the memory of creation.
The order of angels — lowest to highest
PaedoriumArchangelsCherubim DominionsThronesSeraphims
Paedorium An invented term, from the Latin paedor — “dirt”. The angels closest to the dirt, which is to say closest to humanity.

♥ Free will, and the experiment ♥

where it goes wrong

YHWH proposes sentient humans with free will. Lucifer objects: free will is an irrational insertion into a machine that does not require it. Her answer is that obedience without choice is a beautiful song with only one note.

So he proposes a controlled experiment — a closed system, two subjects, one rule — intending to prove her wrong with evidence she cannot dismiss.

Eden
Built as a secluded quadrant within Heaven, not a separate world.
Adam and Eve
Shaped from the same divine energy, independently and as absolute equals. Not one made from the other. Adam carries steadiness; Eve carries the intellect that asks why.
The two trees
The Tree of Life, gold. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, silver.
Gadreel
Chosen from the general host to guard Eden. Built around the assumption that authority means truth — which is precisely the seam that gets exploited.

♥ The Fall ♥

nobody in it is a villain

Lucifer builds the serpent himself — not a monster, an instrument of questions. Then he persuades Gadreel to open the gate by framing it as a deeper and more sophisticated form of loyalty.

The serpent does not create Eve’s hunger. It only names it. She had been looking at that tree since the day it was planted.

Eve eats
Out of curiosity. Not rebellion.
She gives it to Adam
So that he will not be unequal to her. This only makes sense because they began equal.
Adam eats
Knowingly, with full awareness of what he is choosing, out of love for his wife. Not weakness, and not confusion.
YHWH judges
With no wrath — only sorrow. The exile is framed as necessary surgery: Eden’s peace would be a torment to them now.

And Uriel records all of it

Including the things nobody assigned her to record.

♥ The Virtues ♥

the repair, and its one casualty

Lucifer proposes the remedy for a world that now contains suffering. YHWH enacts it.

Raphael
Temperance and Healing. A golden chalice.
Uriel
Justice. A flaming sword of Truth. Observer becomes arbiter — this is where the Judge comes from. It is acquired, not original.
Michael
Fortitude and Justice — the sword of the arbiter, not the arbiter.
Gabriel
Faith and Kindness.
Chamuel • Jophiel • Zadkiel
Love. Wisdom and Hope. Mercy and Loyalty. Three new lights.

Lucifer receives no virtue

To attach a single virtue to him, she says, would be to limit what is limitless. She means it as the highest honour available. He receives it as exclusion: praise where he needed belonging, a pedestal where he needed a door. His perfection is both his crown and his cage.

♥ The War in Heaven ♥

a family argument with a body count
Azazel
Heaven’s Master Alchemist. Recruited by an argument, not a bribe — offered the ultimate experiment.
Gadreel
Demoted after the Fall and made Heaven’s cautionary tale. Recruited through a genuine injustice, by the angel who caused it.
The Gallantry of the Dawn
The undervalued and the overlooked. They believed they were ascending, not falling.

Lucifer does not storm the throne. He stands still and makes Heaven come to him — the difference between a rebel and a prophet. He demands YHWH relinquish control of creation.

She does not answer. That silence is the real wound.

Michael wins by endurance rather than cleverness — water against stone. Uriel arrives and unmakes Azazel, not by force but by conclusion: science cannot unmake what is simply true. The fallen give her a name for it — the Wrath of God. Lucifer’s single instant of distraction, watching her, is the seam Michael strikes through.

Gadreel surrenders to spare the people who followed him, knowing there will be no mercy for him.

♥ Hell ♥

not what you think it is

Hell is YHWH’s creation, and it is purgatorial

A place for reflection, testing, and — for those who genuinely seek it — repentance and a second chance. Not merely punishment.

Lucifer is appointed its Warden. The sentence is poetic rather than cruel: he wanted to manage imperfection perfectly, so now he must manage it forever. He becomes the jailer of the flaw he proved exists.

When an angel calls him Adversary, YHWH forbids it outright — you will not rename what I have created. He was her son before he was anyone’s enemy.

The Nine Archdukes
Azazel (first), Gadreel (second), and the Seven Deadly Sins — Pride, Wrath, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Sloth. The Sins are native fiends coalesced from the realm itself, not fallen angels.
Azazel’s change
He removes his own grace clinically, the way you uninstall software you no longer need. His halo shatters and drives inward, calcifying into horns; his wings become membranous. He files the observations and returns to work.
Lucifer’s change
None. He does not know what he is now.
Ten thousand years in One soul in the deepest part of Hell shows a faint trace of returning light. Lucifer notices. He says nothing. He keeps trying.

♥ The machinery, and the withdrawal ♥

how it ends up as it is

The cycle of reincarnation is closed and replaced with final judgment. Death and the Reapers become guides and sorters — the righteous to Eden’s gate, the damned to Hell’s border. The vast in-between, the flawed and the striving, YHWH reserves for herself, personally.

Eden is reborn as the eternal reward, with Uriel as its Guardian. No soul enters without passing her.

Then she steps away

Out of grief, not anger — not from love, but because of it. Heaven does not fall. It endures as a perfect, beautiful, and profoundly lonely clock, ticking on and waiting for a heart that may never beat in it again.

♥ Uriel, specifically ♥

why this site exists in the shape it does

She is made last, as a recorder. Judgment is added to her afterwards, as a promotion she never requested. She is exact, selective, and quiet, and from her first moment she keeps records nobody authorised — hesitations, intervals, the pause before someone speaks.

What it cost her

Asked how she is doing after the war, Gabriel answers that she judges, and does not seem troubled — and then adds that he thinks she misses having things to record.

She did not lose her gentleness when she was given the sword. She lost her function.

That is the throughline of the whole canon: characters keeping private, unauthorised records that nobody asked them to keep. This website is one of those. It simply isn’t private.

Tip: Keep smiling — life gets better when you smile.
